Peshawar Law Review https://journal.kpja.edu.pk/index.php/plr
The Peshawar Law Review (PLR), launched by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA), serves as a cornerstone for advancing judicial education and legal scholarship in Pakistan. Its mission is to provide a platform for judges, court staff, legal scholars, and justice-sector professionals to share research, critique laws, and propose reforms. Key objectives include fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, addressing gaps in justice administration, and promoting high-quality research to elevate judicial practices.

Contributors span judges, legal academics, law officers, and professionals allied to justice delivery. Content includes research articles (4,000–6,000 words), case notes, legislation reviews, book reviews, and empirical studies, all subject to strict formatting guidelines: manuscripts must follow the Chicago Manual of Style (16th edition), include abstracts (200 words), and disclose author affiliations.

Publication policies prioritize originality, permitting 15% plagiarism with mandatory source attribution. Submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review via the ScholarOne system, involving pre-editorial and external expert assessments. PLR operates with flexible timelines but adheres to structured processes for submission, review (30–45 days), and publication (40–75 days), ensuring quality without fixed deadlines.

The journal is open access, offering free online content to maximize reach. While currently fee-free, future nominal charges may apply, with waivers for marginalized groups (e.g., award-winning researchers, conflict-affected individuals). Authors must declare conflicts of interest, aligning with Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. Corrections or retractions are transparently managed, with bi-directional links to original articles.

Published biannually (June and December), PLR accepts submissions in Urdu and English, aiming to bridge language barriers and eventually expand to quarterly issues. By integrating rigorous scholarship, ethical publishing, and inclusivity, PLR empowers legal stakeholders to drive systemic reforms and enhance justice delivery, solidifying its role as a catalyst for judicial excellence in Pakistan.

The Peshawar Law Review (PLR), launched by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA), serves as a cornerstone for advancing judicial education and legal scholarship in Pakistan.
